This release of Lua-UL brings two major changes: The new version avoids offsets in the line if nested boxes are used (e.g. sub/supscripts in math) or therefore more closely corresponds to real life underlines. Also starting with this version height and depth of underlines are taken into account by TeX's calculations, avoiding cases where underlines might overlap with the line below.

Lua-UL – Underlining for LuaLaTeX
This package provides underlining, strikethough, and highlighting using features in LuaLaTeX which avoid the restrictions imposed by other methods. In particular, kerning is not affected, the underlined text can use arbitrary commands, hyphenation works etc.
The package requires LuaTeX version ≥ 1.12.0.
