The bytefield package helps the user create illustrations for network protocol specifications and anything else that utilizes fields of data. These illustrations show how the bits and bytes are laid out in a packet or in memory. Version 1.3 adds support for e-TeX's larger dimen pool using code provided by Heiko Oberdiek. When used with the etex package, bytefield should now be far less likely to abort LaTeX with a "No room for a new dimen" error.
