This is musixtex-fonts version 2.0 packaged 2023-01-11.
It contains all of the font-related files for MusiXTeX,
including both the original metafont sources and Type 1
versions by Takanori Uchiyama, and the specialized frenchtab
and MuseJazzText fonts that have been moved from the
musixtex packasge.

The main author of MusiXTeX was Daniel Taupin, who died
in a climbing accident in 2003; other authors credited in
the MusiXTeX manual are Andreas Egler and Ross Mitchell.
MusiXTeX is now being maintained by

musixtex-fonts-install.{pdf,tex} is a more-detailed version
of the following instructions:

To install (on TDS-compliant TeX systems):

 + download "tex-archive"/install/fonts/musixtex-fonts.tds.zip where
    the preferred URL for "tex-archive" is http://mirror.ctan.org

 +  unzip the archive at the root of a texmf tree and, if necessary,
    update the filename database; e.g., texhash texmf.

 +  update the relevant font-map files; e.g., append

       MixedMap musix.map

    to the relevant updmap.cfg, and execute updmap-sys or updmap-user.

The font file frenchtab.pfb is derived from mscoreTab.ttf
by Maurizio M. Gavioli. It was obtained from

https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/blob/master/fonts/

and is licensed under the SIL Open Font Licence, 
Version 1.1; the text may be found in the doc directory.

The font file MuseJazzText.pfb is derived from MuseJazzText.otf
by Torsten Hämmerle and Abraham Lee. It was obtained from

https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/blob/master/fonts

and is licensed under the SIL Open Font Licence,  
Version 1.1; the text may be found in the doc directory.

The font file feta20.pfb is Copyright (C) 1997--2022 Han-Wen Nienhuys 
<hanwen@xs4all.nl> and is licensed under the SIL Open Font Licence.

musixtex-fonts – Fonts used by Musix

These are fonts for use with Musix; they are provided both as original source, and as converted Adobe Type 1.

The bundle renders the older (Type 1 fonts only) bundle musixtex-t1fonts obsolete.
