Upright Digits and Punctuation in Computer Modern Italic Version 2.1 2016/02/14 This package provides a set of modified Computer Modern Italic fonts: the digits and punctuation are upright. This helps typesetting mathematical texts, where slanted digits in text look disturbing near upright digits in math. The package provides a set of virtual fonts combining Computer Modern Italic and Computer Modern Roman. Metafont fonts are also included. cmtiup – Upright punctuation with CM italic
The cmtiup fonts address a problem with the appearance of punctuation in italic text in mathematical documents. To achieve this, all punctuation characters are upright, and kerning between letters and punctuation is adjusted to allow for the italic correction.
The fonts are implemented as a set of vf files; a package for support in LaTeX 2e is provided.
