readprov – Provides GetFileInfo without the need to load the file
The package provides a \GetFileInfo command (as in the LaTeX standard doc package, but without the need to load the doc package). The package also provides new robust (expandable) variants of \GetFileInfo, even without loading the file itself (reading the file is stopped when the requisite information is found). So, for exaple, you can describe packages that are incompatible with each other or with packages that your document uses, or even report about class files (that are plainly not loadable).
Files examined in this way also enter the output of \listfiles.
The package is part of the fileinfo bundle.
