Date: February 22, 2020 8:53:41 AM CET
Charles P. Schaum submitted an update to the
nameauth
package.
Version number: 3.3 2020-02-20
License type: lppl1.3
Summary description: Name authority mechanism for consistency in body text
and index
Announcement text:
I am pleased to announce version 3.3 of nameauth. It fixes undocumented behavior in a few less-common use cases, adds debugging aids and more error protection, and introduces a heavily-rewritten manual that has been reorganized for usability, including more real-world applications. If needed, one can revert fully to the behavior of version 3.2 by using two package options. The dtx file has been designed to generate the current package and manual for both current TeX distributions and on older versions used, e.g., on some Linux LTS releases.
This package is located at http://mirror.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/nameauth More information is at https://www.ctan.org/pkg/nameauth
Thanks for the upload. For the CTAN Team Erik Braun

nameauth – Name authority mechanism for consistency in body text and index
Publications, that reference many names, require editors and proofreaders to track those names in the text and index. The package offers name authority macros that allow authors and compilers to normalize occurrences of names, variant name forms, and pen names in the text and index. This may help minimize writing and production time and cost.
