package.
Version: 3.0 2017-06-05

Summary description: Produce song books for church or fellowship
Announcement text:
The “songs” package has undergone many revisions since version 2.14, and has now reached a new major release 3.0. New features include: * New \pagepreludes page format allows one song per page, with page-width title centered above a multi-column song body. * Customizable echo parts and meter numbers. * New index-generation script is written entirely in Lua and can be launched via texlua. (So no more wrestling with autobuild or C compilers to run the indexer.) * Improved compatibility with modern and legacy LaTeX environments and many other LaTeX packages. * Many bug fixes. As always, detailed change histories and assorted documentation can be found at the official web site: http://songs.sourceforge.net
The package’s Catalogue entry can be viewed at https://ctan.org/pkg/songs The package’s files themselves can be inspected at http://mirror.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/songs/
Thanks for the upload. For the CTAN Team Petra Rübe-Pugliese

songs – Produce song books for church or fellowship
The package provides a means of producing beautiful song books for church or fellowship. It offers:
- a very easy chord-entry syntax;
- multiple modes (words-only; words+chords; slides; handouts);
- measure bars;
- guitar tablatures;
- automatic transposition;
- scripture quotations;
- multiple indexes (sorted by title, author, important lyrics, or scripture references); and
- projector-style output generation, for interactive use.
A set of example documents is provided.
