CTAN Update: PT Sans
Date: February 10, 2011 10:48:44 PM CET
On Thu, 10 Feb 2011 Pavel Farar submitted an update to the
ptsans
package.
Summary description: PT Sans font and LaTeX support.
License type: other-free
Announcement text:
- In the fonts/enc/ and fonts/map directories omitted the "paratype" level (suggested by Karl Berry). - Changed style files in this way: 1) Added an option to scale the fonts. In the font definition files was support for it but not in the style files. It was caused by creating simpler style files than those created by autoinst from fontools (they were created because the original files required the package fontenc with all supported encodings -- which might be a problem). 2) Style files do not change neither \familydefault nor \bfdefault. There are font substitutions in the font definition files now. Both suggested by Ricard Torres. Used his patches (based on Walter Schmidt's macros) for PTSans.sty and T1PTSans-TLF.fd. The changes extended to all other files. Related package: ptserif
This package is located at http://mirror.ctan.org/fonts/ptsans/ . More information is at http://tug.ctan.org/info/?id=ptsans (if the package is new it may take a day for that information to appear). We are supported by the TeX Users Group http://www.tug.org . Please join a users group; see http://www.tug.org/usergroups.html . Thanks for the upload. For the CTAN Team Rainer Schöpf

ptsans – PT Sans font and LaTeX support
This package contains LaTeX support for the font PT Sans developed by ParaType for the project “public Types of the Russian Federation”, and released under an open user license.
The fonts are included in this distribution, in TrueType format and converted to Type 1 format (as kindly allowed by ParaType). The fonts provide coverage of the T2* and X2 encodings, and partial coverage of T1, OT1, TS1 and IL2 (sufficient for typesetting text in Czech and Slovak languages — the purpose of encoding IL2).
This package is now obsolete; users should seek the paratype bundle in its place.
