Summary description: Extension for package graphicx to
facilitate the placement of graphics
Announcement text:
graphbox is an extension for the LaTeX 2e package graphicx to facilitate the placement of graphics relative to the current position using additional optional arguments [...] of \includegraphics. For example, changing the vertical alignment is convenient for using graphics as elements of (mathematical) formulae. Options for shifting, smashing and hiding the graphics are mainly intended for designing presentations using, e.g., the beamer framework.
This package is located at http://mirror.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/graphbox/ More information is at http://www.ctan.org/pkg/graphbox We are supported by the TeX Users Group http://www.tug.org . Please join a users group; see http://www.tug.org/usergroups.html .

graphbox – Extend graphicx to improve placement of graphics
Graphbox is an extension of the standard graphicx LaTeX2ε package to allow the placement of graphics relative to the “current position” using additional optional arguments of \includegraphics.
For example, changing the vertical alignment is convenient for using graphics as elements of (mathematical) formulae. Options for shifting, smashing and hiding the graphics may be useful in support, for example, of the beamer framework.
