CTAN update: nameauth
Date: April 11, 2016 5:58:15 AM CEST
Charles P. Schaum submitted an update to the
nameauth
package.
Version number: 2.5 2016-04-06
License type: lppl1.3
Summary description: Name authority mechanism for consistency in body
text and index
Announcement text:
The 2.5 milestone update moves toward greater modularity in processing names. No default format is assigned to names. Those who used the previous default still may get that behavior with the smallcaps option. The front/main matter systems each have their own first- and subsequent-use hooks. Complex interactions with names and their contexts are possible. Longer examples in the manual are included also in a separate examples file. This opens possibilities for reference works, historical research, and any situation where one must key information to names and create complex interactions based on that.
This package is located at http://mirror.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/nameauth More information is at http://www.ctan.org/pkg/nameauth We are supported by the TeX user groups. Please join a users group; see http://www.tug.org/usergroups.html .
Thanks for the upload. For the CTAN Team Manfred Lotz

nameauth – Name authority mechanism for consistency in body text and index
Publications, that reference many names, require editors and proofreaders to track those names in the text and index. The package offers name authority macros that allow authors and compilers to normalize occurrences of names, variant name forms, and pen names in the text and index. This may help minimize writing and production time and cost.
